Where's Yoda?

I used a lot of reference for this one. Spent about 3 hours just looking at and compiling photos. In the end I thought it sort of looked like Dagobah, hence the title. I then decided, "Hey!" if it looks like Dagobah then I should paint it more like Dagobah. So, I added a few things, got rid of a few things, changed a few things and viola!

Blurrgat Caverns

Just doing some more stuff in the style of "Creature Box". Hope you like it. I thought a cool toned cavern felt right. The compositions a little goofy but, I felt it turned out to be closer to what I was looking for. Sometimes, breaking the rules works

Hallway

I wish I knew who originally did this, but I saw it on a drive at school and thought I want to figure out how he did this. So, I sat down with my "Wacom" and pounded it out. I think I did a good job and you will probably see some stuff like this in the future.

Tomorrow

Valley of Shandor

Tried to rock some Shaddy style. God bless his little heart for being so epic. I fear as though I have not come close to living up to his almighty epicness.

Venice, Italy

Saw that someone painted something similar to this, so I tried to mimic.

Sunken

This was a painting I had already completed, but looking upon it again, I decided it needed a few more things to make it more interesting and believable. I added the sunken ship and some kelp in random places.

Snow in the Color Red

Red's so cute!

Sketches #1

This is a layout for the movie Planet 51. I saw this in a concept book somewhere and wanted to see if I could reproduce it. I think it came out pretty successful.
This is 2 bad guys in the jungle...I cant remember where I got the inspiration for this image, but I know I cant take credit for it
This final image is another homage to CreatureBox....I seriously cant get enough of their style.

These are 2 quick concepts I did. The left picture is for the Thrice music video for the song "Yellowbelly" and the right picture is for the Polar Bear Club video for "Killin' It"

Paris at Night

This is a commissioned background I did for a music video

Maudeville Canyon

This is a plane-air painting I did with the Sunday Painting Posse.....I struggled with this one, it was like a battle I couldn't win....It was noon and the light wasn't really working for me, but I pulled through. The top image is a painterly style where I've taken the liberty of adding shadows to help the image. The middle image is a texture based image. As for the bottom image, I thought adding a person for the foreground focal point would help the composition.

Wine!

This is the second concept I did for HDR testing. I had a lot of fun doing this one, mostly because wine is delicious.

Peeker

Just having some fun, trying to do some cartoony style paintings.

Outpost on Planet Violialo

This is my attempt at a painting in the very similar styling of Dave Guertin. I did my own composition, and I think I did the painting some justice. I particularly had a lot of fun with the hues on this one.

For this one I just played with the curves function on Photoshop CS4, plus i mixed and matched some brushes to add texture.

Are you shore?

One of my friends, Brian Adelberg, took this photo. I really wanted to paint it. The tree is crazy, plus I like birds in compositions. If you like the painting you should really check out Brian's photography, It a spectacle of brilliance to behold.

Desert-ed

I did this as a speed painting practice. I took me about one hour, even with phone call interruptions.

Tangerine Skies

I wanted to do a monochromatic painting and when I started I realized I hadn't done one in 5 years, so this is my attempt. I feel pretty good about it, but I think I will practice a little more next time.

Trystopia

This one was extremely fun for me, I kept having images of this building in my head and I finally decided to paint it. Also, when I walk my dog I always see these birch trees and I love how they're this sort of green white color with the deep blue cut ins going across the trunks.

TOOLS: Photoshop CS4, Wacom Intuos

Golden Gate

I don't really have much to say about this one. I just felt like doing the Golden Gate Bridge. I blocked out the shapes and proceeded to add color and depth.

Relaxin'

This was another painting I did for the fundraiser, I thought these types of paintings would be more of what investors and adults would want in their homes. So, there you have it.

Sailin'

I painted this one for a fundraiser.

The Thinker

This was a simple painting I did to pass the time. I thought it had some appeal.

Jack Wakes Up

I've been wanting to do a LOST painting for a long time now, so I decided I would go with the opening scene. To paint this one all I did was put in the DVD of the first season and paused it on my TV. I just kept looking back and forth, screen to screen, until it was finished, It almost looks just like the video (I'm proud of myself). So, if you love LOST like I do, then you should enjoy this.
